In 1750 the ruler of Multan Dewan Sawan Mal
was responsible for inventing a delicious royal sweet which was named
after him. This sweet was served to royal visitors from all over the
subcontinent and also sent as gift to other rulers and friends.
It was in 1930 that Hafiz Ahmed Din, a teacher of Quran began preparing
a daily helping of halva as his pupils learnt the day's lesson.
Essentially it was for a close circle of friends and the small
community where he lived. This also put Hafiz Ahmed Din's talent at

the art of halwa making to good use, there by earning him a living as
well.
In 1963, the second generation - Hafiz Habib-ur-Rehman was put in
the saddle. By the time Mr. Badaruddin Qamar
(General Manager) joined the company in 1970, news of its halwa had spread
outside Multan as well.
Finally, Mr. Khalil Ahmed, the younger son of Hafiz Habib Ur Rahman, joined the
company in 1994 as Deputy Cheif Exectutive. This ambitous young man is setting
new guidelines for the company, preparing the company for the twenty first century.
