The total market today is of the order of three to four tonnes a day or about 100 tonnes a month (1 tonne = 1000 kg.) or 600 tonnes for the season. In the off seasons (summer months) the sales are less than half, bringing the year's total to more than 900 tonnes (Figures according to year 1991-1992 statistics).
Hafiz achieves this level of sales through a network of distributors (agents) and retailers in all the principal cities of Pakistan. The network spans from Karachi to Islamabad. Hafiz are so strict about quality controle that no plants have been set up outside Multan under franchise arrangements, as doing so would offer problems of quality control and therefore it was never considered as a workable option.
